Toyota sales increase by 7.8 % in May

Toyota sales jumped by 7.8 percent last month, thanks in part to the popularity of its lineup of sport utility vehicles and trucks. The increase represents 23,893 more new vehicles sales compared to the same month last year.

The 2017 Toyota RAV4 leads the way

Part of Toyota’s sales success can be explained by the impressive popularity of the 2017 Toyota RAV4. Indeed, Toyota sold 5,355 RAV4 SUV models last month, an increase of 10 % compared to May 2016. These numbers represent an all-time record for Toyota’s compact sport utility vehicle.

Toyota C-HR sales also helped with the new subcompact SUV going on sale last month. The Toyota Corolla saw its sales increase by 13.7 % while the Toyota Sienna had a month to remember with 1,567 units sold, a gain of 45.4 %.
