Toyota FT-4X Concept stands out in New York

describes the Calty-designed Toyota FT-4X concept as “modern 4×4 toolbox for the most modern urbanites”. We call it a compact sport utility vehicle we would love to have in our driveway. Indeed, the Toyota FT-4X concept that was shown a few weeks ago at the New York International Auto Show is a model that was designed for active owners who have to be in the city during the week, but can’t wait to get out of town on Friday afternoon.

Toyota FT-4X: Future Toyota four-wheel drive vehicle

The Toyota FT-4X stands for Future Toyota four-wheel drive vehicle, and it is by far one of the most intriguing concepts unveiled to date by Toyota. Penned by Toyota’s Calty Design Reseach Center in Newport Beach, California, it offers rugged capabilities along with a long list of unique features.

“As designers, we’re investing deep thought into the emotional connection with our cars,” said Calty President, Kevin Hunter. “The Toyota FT-4X is not simply a concept where style meets function; it is a thoughtful, charming and engaging experience that adds real pleasure and convenience to the journey. We focused on how a crossover vehicle can add fun and value to casual adventures both in and out of the city, thinking about how someone would use it, and what they would love to do with it.”

Designed for millennials, the Toyota FT-4X gives us a hint of where Toyota is going with its future lineup. And we like it! To learn more about new Toyota vehicles, contact us today at Newmarket Toyota!
