A Night of Glamour, Community and Empowerment at the 14th Annual NewRoads Girls Night Out

On March 6, 2025, the NewRoads Performing Arts Centre was transformed into the glitz and glamour of a New York City landmark for the 14th Annual NewRoads Girls Night Out. Held in celebration of International Women’s Day, this year’s theme - A Night at the Plaza Hotel - brought elegance and excitement to every corner of the venue. Guests were greeted by doormen in white gloves and top hats, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. The main lobby sparkled like a luxury hotel bar, where guests sipped wine, enjoyed themed appetizers by A Million Mouthfuls Catering, and posed for fun, on-theme photo ops.

More than just a party, the evening was a celebration of women and a testament to community spirit. Over 20 women-owned businesses showcased their products, creating a vibrant shopping experience. There were raffle prizes galore, all generously donated by members of our amazing community. The evening’s emcee, Jennifer Ritter, President and CEO of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation, kept the program flowing with warmth and enthusiasm. After the reception, guests were treated to an energetic, interactive performance by Artistica Dance Studio, followed by a heartfelt, funny, and inspiring keynote from Jenn Walker, who shared her personal journey and reflections on womanhood - perfectly in line with the evening’s message of empowerment.

All proceeds from the event went to Girls Inc., an organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. With over 350 locations across North America, Girls Inc. creates safe, supportive environments where girls can grow, learn, and thrive. Through advocacy, mentorship, and educational programming, they empower young women to navigate barriers and reach their full potential.

This incredible evening wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our community partners, whose ongoing commitment makes events like this not only possible but powerful. It was such a fun and lively night that we even had to restock the bar - and even the few brave men in attendance had a great time, happily surrounded by a sea of inspiring women. Here’s to another successful Girls Night Out and to the bright future we’re building together.
