Toyota wins several Best Retained Value Awards from Canadian Black Book in 2025

Toyota Canada has earned seven Best Retained Value Awards for 2025 from Canadian Black Book, further reinforcing the brand’s reputation for long-term dependability, quality engineering and strong ownership value for Canadians.

The Canadian Black Book Best Retained Value Awards recognize vehicles that retain the highest percentage of their original manufacturer’s suggested retail price after four years on the road. For the 2025 program, Canadian Black Book analyzed 2022 model year vehicles across 15 individual vehicle segments, as well as four overall brand categories. Toyota distinguished itself by capturing the Overall Brand Award in the Mainstream category, along with several segment-specific honours.

Toyota Canada points to this recognition as evidence of a long-term commitment to building vehicles that deliver reliable performance and sustained value throughout ownership. Robert Tsang, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Toyota Canada, explained that the awards reflect the confidence Canadian customers place in the brand and the durable quality designed into every Toyota vehicle. He also highlighted Toyota’s focus on providing a wide-ranging lineup that meets the diverse needs, lifestyles, and budgets of drivers across the country.

Toyota secured Best Retained Value Awards in the following categories:

  • Overall Brand Award – Mainstream
  • Mainstream Car – Toyota Corolla
  • Mainstream Plug-in Hybrid – Toyota RAV4 Prime
  • Small and Mid-Size Pickup – Toyota Tacoma
  • Full-Size Pickup – Toyota Tundra
  • Mainstream Sub-Compact and Compact SUV – Toyota C-HR
  • Mainstream Mid and Full-Size SUV – Toyota 4Runner

In addition to these category wins, Toyota achieved strong results across multiple segments. In the Mainstream Car category, the Toyota Camry finished in second place, with the Toyota Prius taking third. Within the Mainstream Sub-Compact and Compact SUV category, the Canada-built Toyota RAV4 earned second place, while the Toyota Corolla Cross followed closely in third.

Together, these results highlight Toyota’s ongoing investment in a broad vehicle portfolio that includes cars, SUVs, trucks, hybrids, and plug-in hybrids. For Canadian consumers, high retained value can mean reduced long-term ownership costs, better resale outcomes, and added confidence when leasing or trading in a vehicle.
