Previewing the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra!

The 2022 Toyota Tundra aims to appeal to a slightly different audience than its rival domestic truck manufacturers. Most pickup trucks employ a leaf-spring rear suspension whereas the Tundra features coil springs similar to the Ram 1500. This will make the Tundra ride far better than most.

Engine Performance

The new Toyota pickup can still tow up to 12,000 pounds. However, the engine comes in two different setups. The standard version pumps out 389 hp and 479 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid version features an electric motor integrated into the transmission allowing pure electric driving at low speeds. The combo generates a combined 437 hp and 583 pound-feet.

Infotainment System

While an 8" touchscreen is standard in the new Tundra, it can be mega-sized with a horizontally oriented 14" touchscreen that dominates all other trucks. It features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with a subscription Wi-Fi hotspot.

Safety Features

The Tundra is loaded with driver-assistance technology including auto high-beam, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert etc. Other safety features include:

• Standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist
• Standard adaptive cruise control
